Cheek piercings move through some of the most expressive, living tissue in the face, which means they ask for patience and care as they heal. Because of this movement, we use a slightly thicker post to support comfort, stability, and smoother healing.

Healing is a long journey; often unfolding over a year, sometimes up to two. During the first year, it’s common to experience swelling, fluid build-ups, or raised scar tissue as your body learns how to settle around the piercing. This is all part of the process, though with mindful aftercare, the tissue will slowly find its balance.

Although all oral piercings pose a risk of damaging teeth and gums, your practitioner will approach both placement and jewellery options with risk minimisation in mind.
